Since March 12th, 

Shanghai Jiao Tong University has strictly implemented the management measures of "Stay Indoors"

At such a special moment,

the School of Foreign Languages fully mobilized all forces,

doing its utmost to guarantee students' life and study.

 

Since March 13th,

the alumni have voluntarily started to

inquire about the situation on campus on Wechat groups

and  kept donating all kinds of urgently needed supplies.

What they did once again exemplified the spirit engraved in the blood of SJTUers, that is,

"Once you choose SJTU, you choose responsibility".

It is time to

join hands to fight COVID-19 and overcome difficulties together,

determined to stay with the School of Foreign Languages!

Speed is power.

On the morning of March 13, SFL alumni inquired about the situation of SFL as soon as they heard about it from the reports. Upon learning that SJTU was under closed loop management, and in need of various epidemic prevention and control supplies, SFL alumni quickly responded. In the afternoon of the same day, the first batch of supplies were dispatched to SFL teachers and students.

Pooling Together is power. 

After the first batch of supplies arrived, the energy of alumni poured in from all directions. The local alumni in Shanghai ordered the service of take-out, one-day express and city express to deliver the supplies as quickly as possible. Alumni in places as far as Shenzhen, Beijing, Singapore, the United States, have also mailed the supplies to SFL by air freight and express delivery. 
With the alumni’s support, medical supplies such as masks, gloves, protective suits, headgear, ethyl alcohol and medicine, together with food supplies such as fruits, instant noodles and sausages were streaming into the quarantined campus.

 

 

 

 

 

On Wechat, the alumni kept saying,

"We are always at the service of the alma mater",

"When drinking water, we should never forget its source. Alma mater is always in our hearts",

"We want to do something for the Alma mater. We will tide over the tough time together ",

"We hope that the epidemic will end soon and we can return to our home"...

It seems that although they've graduated from SJTU long ago, they have never left...

Immeasurable warmth is power. 

Great power can be overwhelming,

and tender consideration can be teardrop-inducing. 
Knowing clearly that girls accounted for majority of SFL students,

the alumni included particularly some girls’products into the epidemic prevention and control supplies. 
When learning about the possible temperature drop on Friday from the weather forecast,

the alumni sent blankets to teachers sleeping on the floor.
After hearing that many teachers working grueling hours around the clock,

the alumni donated T-shirts so that they could change their clothes.

the mountains and seas can be leveled.

The place that one’s concern

can reach will never be considered far.

Because of the name of “SFLers”,

we are destined to stay together.
